Our Story

Polity is a project birthed from months and years of work in communities in Florida and NY and understanding where the break has been in civic engagement for my own family and friends. I believe in the power of civic engagement, but also understand that it can be intimidating when you're not sure where to start.

We're here because we want to empower people to make informed decisions about their government. We want everyone to have access to reliable information about their representatives' records and positions on the issues they care about most.

Civic engagement is the act of participating in an activity or group that aims to improve society. Civic engagement can be formal (participating in a political campaign, standing for election, volunteering at a local charity) or informal (participating in a sport team, joining a club).

Civic engagement has been defined as β€œthe process by which individuals become active participants in their communities.”

The mission of Pollity is to leverage thoughtful UX design and unbiased content to lower the barrier to entry involved with civic engagement. The goal is to provide a way for people to learn about the issues facing our society in an untainted, easily digestible format that can be passed on from friend-to-friend.

We believe that participation should be based on what you want to discuss, not what a party is telling you. Our goal is to bring about transparency in government for the civil empowerment of our users and the creation of new standards for civic participation.

Pollity is dedicated to providing an unbiased political analysis resource to the voting public. We offer comparisons and contrasts of candidates, elected officials, and related political figures at the federal, state and local level.

With Pollity, we take out the guesswork and show you exactly how your local elected officials vote on issues that matter to you, so you can make an informed decision when it comes to elections.
